[NEW] ONTARIO SUNSHINE LIST 2023

$ 33.53 Billion

In 2023, the Province of Ontario spent more than $ 33.53 Billion dollars in salaries, benefits and severances with publicly employed people making $100,000 salary or higher.

The Ontario Sunshine list is a publicly available list of all Ontario public sector employees who earn a salary of $100,000 or more per year. It was created in 1996 as part of the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, which requires that the list be published annually by March 31st.

The list includes the names and salaries of all employees in the public sector, including those working for the government, hospitals, schools, and universities. The goal of the Sunshine list is to promote transparency and accountability in the public sector by making information about high salaries available to the public.

It is called the "Sunshine list" because it is meant to shed light on the salaries of public sector employees.
